3" Stainless Turbo-Back Exhaust, MK4 TDI (ALH & BEW, 1998-2006), v.2 Complete System
Open up your TDI's breathing with a full 3-inch turbo-back in 304 stainless steel, designed and made in the USA. The larger diameter cuts exhaust backpressure, which means cooler EGTs and the flow headroom your engine needs once it's tuned or running a bigger turbo and nozzles. This is the exhaust that lets the rest of your build actually work. A built-in resonator keeps the tone deep and civilized instead of droning on the highway.
Our all-new v.2 design is easier to install than the original and finished to a standard you'll be proud to have under your car.
Complete bolt-in system, everything's included:
Fits: all MK4 ALH and BEW TDIs, 1998-2006 Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, and New Beetle.
A couple of install notes:
Limited supply. These are built in small batches. Pairs perfectly with our ALH/BEW power kits and tuning.
FAQ
Will this exhaust improve performance, or is it just sound?
It's a performance part first. The larger 3-inch diameter reduces exhaust backpressure, which lowers EGTs and gives your engine the flow capacity it needs if you've added a bigger turbo, upgraded nozzles, or a custom tune. The built-in resonator keeps the sound controlled rather than loud or droning.
Is this legal in California?
It's 49-state legal but not CARB certified. California installs require adding a high-flow catalytic converter alongside this system.
Does this fit both ALH and BEW engines?
Yes. It's built for all MK4 TDIs, both ALH and BEW, across 1998-2006 Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, and New Beetle, with the correct O2 sensor bung or block-off bung included for your engine.
Do I need to modify anything to install the exhaust tip?
Depends on the tip. The polished turn-down tip usually needs the last section trimmed to fit (Jetta Wagon owners often skip this step). The straight tip requires a minor rear valance modification.
Is this a good pairing with a power kit or tuning upgrade?
Yes. This exhaust is specifically sized to support the added airflow demand from ALH/BEW power kits and custom tuning, so it's a natural complement rather than a standalone bolt-on.
