What it is
The Kerma OMI ("Old Man Intake") is a replacement intake pipe for the VW 1.9L BEW TDI engine, running from the airbox to the turbo inlet. It replaces the factory pipe, which routes air through a convoluted, twisted path.
What problem it solves
The factory BEW intake pipe has multiple tight bends between the airbox and turbo, restricting airflow. The OMI straightens that path into a more direct route.
Design features
Turbo compatibility
This specific OMI version fits four turbo housings with a standard cold-side diameter:
A different OMI variant is needed for the 17/22, 17/26, or any turbo with a 57mm cold-side compressor — not this SKU. Call 877-537-6283 for that version.

Common questions
Does the OMI work with a stock KP39 turbo, or only upgraded turbos? Both — this version fits the stock KP39 as well as the S7, VNT17, and 17plus upgraded turbos.
Will this OMI fit a 17/22 or 17/26 turbo? No. Those use a larger 57mm cold-side opening and need a different OMI variant — call KermaTDI to get the correct one.
Does installing the OMI remove any factory components permanently? It removes the CCV heater but keeps the CCV puck connection and the factory accordion hose section.
Does this fit the Jetta sedan and wagon the same way? Yes — both the sedan and wagon BEW Jetta are covered under the same fitment, 2004–2006.
