Why Billet Instead of Cast
Chilled cast material is the industry standard for OHC performance cams and works well for most applications, including the ALH engine. PD engines like the V10, along with BEW, BHW, BRM, PD130, and PD150, put unique stress on the camshaft that calls for at minimum a forged design. Colt's billet cams are machined from forged steel, making them stronger, harder, and tougher than the factory original or a typical OEM-style aftermarket replacement.
