What it is
The Series 7 (S7) is a Borg Warner turbocharger, sold new (not rebuilt), that KermaTDI modifies and clocks for the VW 1.9L ALH and BEW TDI engines. It is not interchangeable with other Borg Warner turbos sharing similar part numbers — third-party units with matching numbers will not perform the same, because the modification and tuning calibration are Kerma-specific.

Common questions
Can I use a Borg Warner Series 7 turbo from another supplier with Kerma's tuning? Not recommended — Kerma modifies and clocks this specific unit, and other Borg Warner turbos with similar part numbers won't perform the same even if the part number looks equivalent.
Does the ALH version need any additional parts to fit? Yes — a compressor outlet adapter for SMIC plumbing. Cars built before mid-2001 also need an updated support bracket, oil return line, and block fitting.
Does the BEW version bolt on directly? No — it requires a lower EGR pipe, reclocking, and updated tuning to avoid a check-engine light.
Is this turbo rebuilt or new? New from Borg Warner, not rebuilt.
How much faster does it spool than the stock VNT17? 300–400 RPM sooner.
