What It Is
A 1 inch lift kit built to raise the low stock ride height on Mk4 VWs. At best, these cars have 4.5 inches of clearance, and with the known sagging factory springs, that can drop as low as 3.5 inches. This kit is built from aluminum and stainless steel for strong corrosion resistance, and is engineered to maintain stock camber, caster, shock, and strut tolerances at the new ride height.
A Good Pairing
Works well alongside KermaTDI's Atlas aluminum skid plates, giving you both the added clearance and better protection for engine bay components underneath.
Installation
About 45 minutes on a hoist, or at least 60 minutes with a jack.
What to Expect After Installing
Raising ride height changes suspension geometry from the factory setup, which has real handling consequences. In-house testing found slightly increased body roll with this kit installed. If your car has traction control (ASR, ESP, etc.), the altered geometry may change how the system responds when it activates. In KermaTDI's own testing, including sliding equipped cars around in snowy parking lots to trigger traction control, no difference was found in how those systems actually responded.
Important Compatibility Note
This lift kit is not compatible with Bilstein HD shocks or with Kerma or Shine springs.
Fitment
1998-2006 Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, and New Beetle, Mk4 platform.
Common Questions
Will this hurt my car's handling?
Expect slightly more body roll due to the changed suspension geometry, though KermaTDI's testing found no difference in how traction control systems respond when activated.
Can I run this with Bilstein HD shocks or Kerma/Shine springs?
No, this lift kit is not compatible with either.
How long does installation take?
About 45 minutes on a hoist, or at least 60 minutes using a jack.
Does this pair with anything else in KermaTDI's lineup?
Yes, it's a good match with KermaTDI's Atlas aluminum skid plates for added underbody protection at the new ride height.
