What It Is
A lower-cost alternative to the Q-PRO for a basic ECU tune on PD models, best suited to drivers who don't plan further upgrades down the road. Rather than flashing your own ECU with a Q-PRO device, you send your later-model ECU (2004 or newer North American PD100) to KermaTDI's tuning department, or visit KermaTDI or an authorized dealer for in-person tuning.
Trade-Offs Compared to the Q-PRO
This option is less convenient since it requires shipping your ECU and living with the car down for the round trip. In exchange, it opens up some additional tuning possibilities the Q-PRO doesn't offer. As one example, a 2004 PD100 ECU can be upgraded to a later model that supports a taller 5th gear conversion while still keeping your cruise control function intact.
Where to Ship Your ECU
Send your ECU to KermaTDI's tuning department specifically, not the Colorado address listed elsewhere on the website.
Fitment
2004-2006 Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, New Beetle, and Passat with a PD100 North American engine.
Common Questions
Why would I choose this over the Q-PRO?
This option opens up tuning possibilities the Q-PRO can't, like upgrading a 2004 PD100 ECU to a later model that supports a taller 5th gear conversion while keeping cruise control.
Do I have to ship my ECU in?
Yes, unless you visit KermaTDI or an authorized dealer in person for the tuning instead.
How long will my car be down?
Plan for downtime covering round-trip shipping of your ECU, in addition to the time needed for the tune itself.
Where do I send my ECU?
To KermaTDI's tuning department specifically, which is a different address than the main Colorado address listed on the website.
