A lot of us bypass the plastic thermostatic tee on the fuel filter, here is something that you can use to eliminate the thermostatic valve, and dress up your engine compartment a little bit, at the same time. It's made from billet and has a tube for for the ends of the hose that you are taking off the thermostatic valve, so everything stays nice and orderly.
I eliminated the plastic tee from my fuel system because I didn't want hot fuel from the injection pump return recirculating back into the suction of the injection pump. I know it's supposed to close off at 85 degrees F but I just don't trust it. Also, I've seen enough "bubble trouble" in fuel lines that were caused by a bad seal on the plastic tee to just want to get rid of it.
Think of it as an engine dress-up piece with a benefit of cooler fuel.
