Kerma OMI "Old Man Intake" Pipe — VW ALH TDI (Mk4 Golf/Jetta/New Beetle) | KermaTDI

What it is
The Kerma OMI ("Old Man Intake") is a replacement intake pipe for the VW 1.9L ALH TDI engine, running from the airbox to the turbo inlet. It replaces the factory pipe, which routes air through a convoluted, twisted path between those two points.

What problem it solves
The factory ALH intake pipe has multiple tight bends between the airbox and turbo, which restricts airflow. The OMI straightens that path into a more direct route.

Design features

• Retains the factory accordion (flex) hose section, which is needed to absorb the engine's movement relative to the fixed intake system
• Removes the OEM CCV heater; connects directly to the CCV puck in its stock location
• Produces a noticeably different intake sound compared to the stock pipe
• Installs with adjustable positioning for fitment clearance

Turbo compatibility
This specific OMI version fits four turbo housings with a standard cold-side diameter:

• VNT15 (stock ALH turbo)
• VNT17ALH (upgraded ALH turbo)
• S7 (Series 7)
• 17plus (Doka)

A different OMI variant is needed for the 1722/1726 or any turbo with a 57mm cold-side opening — not this SKU. Call 877-537-6283 for that version.

Common questions

Does the OMI work with a stock VNT15 turbo, or only upgraded turbos? Both — this version fits the stock VNT15 as well as the VNT17ALH, S7, and 17plus.

Will this OMI fit a 1722 or 1726 turbo? No. Those use a larger 57mm cold-side opening and need a different OMI variant.

Does installing the OMI remove any factory components permanently? It removes the CCV heater but keeps the CCV puck connection and the factory accordion hose section.
