Who the 764 is for: This is the step up from the 1019, built for TDIs running a mild to moderate turbo upgrade. It supports 135-205 hp with supporting mods (tune, turbo). If you're not upgrading the turbo, or you're prioritizing fuel economy over peak power, the Bosio 1019 is the better fit; it flows less and holds a slightly better MPG number. Built for today's fuel. Like the rest of the Bosio DLC lineup, the 764 uses a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coated needle. Modern ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) strips the lubricity that older nozzles relied on, accelerating wear. The DLC coating cuts sliding friction and delivers 50% or more added service life over a non-DLC nozzle running ULSD, while improving throttle response, fuel economy, and emissions along the way.
