What It Is
A short shift kit for late Mk4 5-speed manuals (2000 and later, chrome shift weight). It replaces the shift cable ends and the side-to-side selector mechanism with more precise components than the factory setup.

Why It Shifts Differently Than Stock

• Aluminum cable ends with hardened steel spherical pivot bearings, in place of the factory plastic and rubber cable ends, which have built-in damping and looser tolerances by design
• A redesigned "slider" piece, made from a durable structural plastic, replacing the factory white plastic piece that tends to wear and loosen over time
• Removing the rubber from the linkage is what gives the shifter its lighter, more solid, more precise feel compared to the cable-operated stock setup

Performance Numbers
Approximately a 30% reduction in shift throw, in both the front-to-back and side-to-side directions. This is roughly the maximum reduction the factory shift cables can handle before becoming overextended.
