The stock VNT-15 on the ALH is a known weak point once you start tuning. The Garrett VNT17 — the same GT1749VB used in the European PD150 — is the proven replacement: more reliable than the VNT-15 and capable of supporting 150+ whp once paired with the right nozzles, tuning, and supporting mods. This is a brand-new unit from Garrett, not a rebuild, and there's no core deposit.
This turbo can ship with our billet aluminum compressor outlet adapter, making install close to plug-and-play on the ALH. The adapter comes in three sizes — 1.25" OD is correct for the stock hose and what we ship by default, 1.75" OD pairs with our upgraded SMIC plumbing kit, and 2" OD is for our upgraded FMIC plumbing. Select the size that matches your setup above.
We strongly recommend adding our stainless steel braided oil supply line at checkout. The stock line is rigid and prone to breaking during removal — the braided line makes for a much easier install and one less thing to go wrong mid-job.
Early ALH note: cars built before mid-2001 use an earlier turbo support bracket, oil return line, and block fitting that don't match this turbo. If that's your car, add the retrofit kit above — it covers the parts needed to bring it up to the later spec. 2001.5+ ALH is a direct install.
Depending on your plumbing configuration, this turbo may need to be re-clocked — see our re-clocking guide for that procedure.
Build it into a full package: combine this turbo with Genuine Bosio nozzles, our Injector Calibration or Hot Swap program, chip tuning or the Q-Loader, and — on 5-speed cars — a South Bend clutch upgrade. Our 165+whp Package bundles the core pieces, or you can build it out in stages.

Why It's Here:
The VNT-15 was never built to handle real power. This is the turbo we reach for first when an ALH customer's ready to move past stock — proven, supported, and backed by a full package if they want to build it out further.
