Metalnerd 7-Piece Timing Belt Tool Kit for Mk4 ALH TDI

What It Is
A complete kit of 7 specialty tools from Metalnerd for changing the timing belt on ALH-engine TDI cars. This applies to the engine variant with a silver cast aluminum valve cover and a cartridge-type oil filter mounted high on the front of the block, not the later PD-type engines introduced in 2004.

• A4/NB Crank Lock (MN4004)
• 1.9 and 2.0 PD Cam Sprocket Pin, also used as the A4 TDI pump pin (MN3359)
• A4/NB Stubby 5mm Driver (MN0005)
• Compact 3-Way Tensioner Wrench (MN3333)
• Universal Cam Locking Plate (MN3418)
• Universal Sprocket Buster Counterhold Tool (MN3036)

Each tool is also available individually if you only need to replace one from an existing set.

Manual Transmission Note
If your car has a manual transmission, KermaTDI also sells an offset 10mm box wrench (MN248200) separately, useful alongside this kit.

Fitment
1999-2003 Mk4 Golf and Jetta TDI, 1998-2003 Mk4 New Beetle TDI, and 2002-2003 Mk4 Jetta Wagon TDI, all with the ALH engine code.

Common Questions

Will this work on my 2004 TDI?
No. This kit is built for the ALH engine specifically, identifiable by its silver cast aluminum valve cover and cartridge-type oil filter. 2004 and later PD-type engines need a different tool kit.

Do I need the offset box wrench too?
Only if your car has a manual transmission. It's sold separately from this 7-piece kit.
