What It Is
Kerma's Power Plus hardware and tuning package for the ALH engine in 2000-2003 Golf, Jetta, and Jetta Wagon manual transmission cars. It's built to support approximately 190 hp, more than double stock output, as a proven, turn-key combination rather than a piecemeal build. Injector calibration is included for the best results on ALH engines.
Manual Transmission Only
This specific kit is built for 5-speed manual Golf, Jetta, and Jetta Wagon. If you have an automatic transmission car or a New Beetle, call KermaTDI directly and they'll customize a kit for you.
What's Included
Why the Tuning Stands Apart
Kerma's calibration for this package is built around tighter boost control than typical aftermarket tuning, aimed at better drivability, turbo lifespan, and reliability, with no boost valve required. The result is more power and torque, less smoke, and lower exhaust gas temperatures than a comparable, or often more expensive, combination of parts elsewhere.
A Note on the Q-PRO
Early 1998-99 ALH ECUs don't support the Q-loader and instead require shipping your ECU in for reprogramming. KermaTDI can sometimes arrange a core exchange with a deposit to minimize your car's downtime; contact them for details.
Add the Matching Exhaust
A 3 inch turbo-back exhaust is available as an add-on at a discounted rate alongside this kit, for the extra airflow to match everything else in the package.
Before You Start
KermaTDI recommends bringing all maintenance fully up to date before modifying the car.
Fitment
2000-2003 Mk4 Golf and Jetta TDI, and 2002-2003 Mk4 Jetta Wagon TDI, all with the ALH engine and 5-speed manual transmission.
Common Questions
Will this fit my automatic transmission car?
Not as listed. This kit is built for manual transmission cars specifically. Call KermaTDI for a customized package if you have an automatic or a New Beetle.
What happens if I have an early 1998-99 ALH?
Those ECUs don't support the Q-loader, so you'll need to ship your ECU in for reprogramming. Ask about a core exchange option to reduce downtime.
Can I upgrade to the Stage 3 camshaft instead?
Yes, it's available as an option, though it requires minor clearance work, with instructions provided for that step.
Should I add the exhaust too?
It's available at a discounted rate alongside this kit and adds the extra airflow to match the rest of the package's output.
