How Frequency Selective Damping Works
Comfort and handling pull in opposite directions when it comes to damping. Comfort calls for low damping force during high-frequency suspension movement, like small road imperfections, while handling calls for higher damping force during larger body motions and cornering. Koni's Frequency Selective Damping technology adjusts damping force based on which type of movement the suspension is actually experiencing, resolving that conflict without any electronic controls. The whole system is purely mechanical, which keeps installation a straightforward bolt-on job.
