If your TDI is losing coolant under boost, the factory stretch bolts are the reason. They're not rated to hold the head down once cylinder pressure climbs past stock levels, and once a head starts lifting, it doesn't stop on its own.
KermaTDI worked directly with ARP's engineers to spec this stud kit specifically for the VW/Audi 1.9L TDI platform, built from ARP2000 material and tested on an ALH block and head. This is the correct, factory-fitment kit, not the older back-cut chrome-moly studs ARP previously offered for TDIs, which weren't built for a modified engine.
What it does:
On engines with a leaking head gasket, these studs can resolve the leak without pulling the head. Remove the factory bolts one at a time in the factory torque sequence, install the ARP studs, and torque in three passes (80 ft-lb, then 100 ft-lb, then 125 ft-lb final). Using ARP's included lube means no re-torque is needed after install.
Fits: 1.9L TDI engine codes AGP, AGR, AHF, ALH, AQM, ASM, AAZ, AEY, AFN, AHU, ALE, AVG, AHH, AKW, AEF, AGD, ASX, ASY, 1Y, 1Z
These sell out fast relative to production. If your TDI is already down, order ahead rather than waiting on a car that's off the road.
