DPF Differential Pressure Sensor
Part number: 076906051A
This is the part that reads the Differential pressure (D/P) across the diesel particulate filter (DPF) in your common rail TDI (see applicability below or contact us for compatibility). When it fails there may be a low power condition accompanied by a check engine light (CEL) and or flashing glow plug light. The DPF needs this signal to perform a regeneration, and no regen means the soot builds up until a check engine light appears along with one or both of the following diagnostic trouble codes:
009315 - Diesel Particle Filter
P2463 - 000 - Excessive Soot Accumulation - MIL ON
009299 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2453 - 001 - Implausible Signal
P2456 - code signifies an intermittent or erratic signal from the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) pressure sensor's 'A' circuit. This is a common issue on Volkswagen and Audi TDI models, often caused by a damaged or cracked sensor, a problem that frequently occurs after a timing belt service. The most common solutions involve inspecting and replacing the sensor, checking for damaged wiring or hoses, and ensuring the system software is up-to-date
The DPF warning light may also be lit along with the flashing glow plug lamp and check engine light.
Replacing this part, followed by a service regen, fixes the problem indicated by the DTC indicated above.
